Radio star Kate Langbroek lists her renovated St Kilda home for sale

By Alexandra Middleton

Comedian, radio host and TV presenter Kate Langbroek is selling her St Kilda family home of almost two decades, planning to upsize elsewhere within the same suburb.

She has listed the five-bedroom residence on Burnett Street, with price hopes of $2.5 million to $2.7 million and a spring auction date of September 7.

The period home dates to the 1850s, is set on a 500-square-metre block and has been renovated throughout.

It features a high-end kitchen with Smeg appliances, a living room with gas-log fireplace and an inbuilt trampoline in the backyard.

Public records show the home is owned by Langbroek and husband Peter Lewis. They bought it for $830,000 almost two decades ago, meaning a sale at the price guide would triple their purchase price.

Belle Property’s John Manning and Will Johnson are selling agents. Manning said Langbroek and her family were upsizing to a larger home they already own in the St Kilda area.

“They bought a bigger home in the area a couple of years ago, and we rented that out for them for a short period of time. The tenants vacated, so they just decided that now [was the time to sell Burnett Street],” he said.

Langbroek has carried out renovations on the period cottage during her tenure.

“It’s quite a historic home. They renovated in the last 10 years and lived in it as a renovated home,” Manning said.

“For St Kilda, it’s a good-sized block. It’s 500 square metres, so it’s a really good family home with lots of rooms, up to five bedrooms, and there’s a trampoline. It’s walking distance to the beach and Albert Park, so it’s a pretty good spot.”

Manning said there had already been some interest in the property.

The listing was first reported by the Herald Sun.

Langbroek hosts reality show My Mum, Your Dad on Nine, the owner of this masthead.

She was a long-time radio host with Dave Hughes and also a regular presenter and co-host on The Project, and has appeared on Thank God You’re Here and Have You Been Paying Attention?

She also wrote a memoir, Ciao Bella!, about her time living in Italy with her family.
