It hasn't been a much better season for the Cowboys, but they will take delight in consigning 'Big Brother' to 16th spot.

If the initial reports are right and Staggs has done his ACL, he will miss a fair chunk of 2021. The Broncos can ill afford to be without him.

The NRL desperately needs Brisbane to turn things around. They have been a ratings disaster in the prime-time free-to-air spots and their share price has taken a battering.

The best thing about this season for the Broncos is that it is finally over.

And what a debacle it has been. After losing 32-16 to the Cowboys, they have ended up with just three wins for the entire season.

It is a campaign that has cost Anthony Seibold his job, despite having more than three years remaining on his contract.

As it stands, the club hasn't got a coach nor a chief executive for next season. However, inherits the roles will have plenty of work to do. Despite having the best facilities in the league and the pick of the juniors in Queensland, it has all gone horribly wrong.

It's third time lucky for Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow, who crosses for the match-winner.

From the moment Valentine Holmes threw the ball to him with some room to move, there was only going to be one outcome. After having two tries disallowed, it seems fitting that 'The Hammer' ended up with one. In one of his last acts on a football field, Gavin Cooper converted.

He's been a standout in a struggling side, but Feldt won't be making his Origin debut this year. Channel Nine commentators Darren Lockyer and Johnathan Thurston revealed Feldt needs off-season groin surgery and won't be available for Origin selection.

A bit miffed by Hannay's decision to start Gavin Cooper on the bench. Surely the club's fourth-most capped player deserved to start in his first game.

Cooper gave an insight into how much this game means during his pre-game interview. Asked if consigning the Broncos to the spoon was further motivation, he said: "For myself, personally, I'd like to see it. We spoke about it yesterday."
