Bianca and Kanye are one of the most intriguing celebrity couples. How did we get here?

Over the past two years, any reference to Ye (the rapper formerly known as Kanye West) and his wife, Australian model and architect Bianca Censori, has garnered curiosity, groans or genuine concern.

The pair has remained one of the most intriguing celebrity couples to watch since first catching our attention in 2022. But could the show soon be over?

On Friday morning (AEDT), multiple reports suggested the couple were days away from filing for divorce. However, the pair’s representative, Milo Yiannopoulos, told The Hollywood Reporter shortly afterwards that Ye and Censori were about to enjoy Valentine’s Day together, and that “announcements about their private life will come from them directly”.

This kind of back-and-forth has defined their marriage over the past two years. From secret weddings to concerning red carpet stunts, the relationship has had its share of ups and downs. Here’s a timeline of the couple’s remarkable chaos.

December 2022: A secret marriage

By the time Ye and Censori were photographed together for the first time, they were already married. It was reported that they had wed in a private ceremony in December 2022.

While it was originally believed to have been a non-legal union, it was eventually revealed that they had obtained a confidential marriage licence, meaning it was not on the public record.

By this point, Censori had been working as an architectural designer at Ye’s company Yeezy since 2020.

Their wedding came one month following the finalisation of Ye’s extremely public divorce from entrepreneur Kim Kardashian, with whom he shares four children.

Ye and Kardashian were married for seven years, during which he was diagnosed with bipolar disorder.

June 2023: Style evolution

From June onwards, Censori began receiving attention for her seemingly sudden change in style. Tabloids were quick to point out her initial resemblance to Ye’s ex-wife; however, she quickly began appearing solely in monochromatic, and often nude, sheer clothing. In fact, the “nude tights and no pants” look became something of a trademark.

It was largely assumed this wardrobe change was orchestrated by Ye, a man known for asserting control over his previous partners’ clothing. His ex-girlfriend Amber Rose has spoken in interviews of Ye’s commitment to picking her outfits, and both his ex-wife Kardashian and ex-girlfriend Julia Fox have claimed he replaced their entire wardrobes.

November 2023 to October 2024: Interventions, break-ups and reunions

According to the Daily Mail, two of Censori’s Australian friends held an intervention for her in November 2023 after harbouring concerns about her relationship with Ye.

“She knows that she has shut out those close to her, and she is also starting to see through the smoky mirrors of her marriage,” an anonymous source told the tabloid. “She is aware of Kanye’s controlling ways, and she is starting to see things from an outside perspective.”

The couple were rumoured to have gone on a break shortly after; however, Censori was photographed with Ye and his family in December, suggesting they were still together.

From this point onwards, the pair were rumoured to have broken up multiple times, including once in October 2024, when TMZ reported they had been telling friends they were done. But each time speculation began, Ye and Censori were photographed together appearing very much in love, merely creating further confusion.

February 2025: Grammy madness

Concerns around the relationship reached a fever pitch when Ye and Censori attended the Grammy Awards earlier this month. While Ye was dressed entirely in black, Censori wore an ultra-sheer mini slip dress underneath a large black fur coat, which she shed while walking the carpet.

The stunt sent shock waves online, as people expressed concern over how much agency Censori had over the look, which put her naked body on full display.

More than ever before, people questioned the power dynamics within the relationship, and wondered whether Censori was being coerced into making such provocative statements. The fact that the public has barely heard directly from Censori throughout their two-year marriage simply inflamed the scepticism.

Ye, however, has been highly vocal since the stunt. Writing on X, the rapper said he has “dominion” over his wife, though he would never force her to wear anything she didn’t want to. His posts were also marked by antisemitic, misogynistic and homophobic remarks. Ye’s X account was deactivated soon after, but is now back online, albeit wiped of content.

February 2025: Fake accounts

Amid Ye’s hateful tirade on social media, a post appeared on a verified X account claiming to belong to Censori. The post seemed to be a cry for help, including phrases like “Lord, I lift up my husband to you with love & concern”, and “God bless … all the good Jewish pple”. However, a representative for Censori told media the account is fake.

Now, a week later, rumours of divorce have resurfaced.
