A trip to the Red Centre is more than a holiday, it’s a chance to witness the magic of Australia’s most iconic natural wonders and experience the wisdom and lore of the world’s oldest living culture.
Connect with our country’s incredible Indigenous history by immersing yourself in the thriving Aṉangu culture, savouring unique flavours, seeking wild adventure and marvelling at vast red desert landscapes, rugged ranges and sacred monoliths.
In Australia’s spiritual heart, you come for a holiday and leave forever changed.
Hear the world’s oldest stories
Uluṟu is a sacred site, one of profound significance to the local Aṉangu who keep their culture, languages, and history alive by sharing the stories of their ancestors – ones that have been passed down for tens of thousands of years.
Wintjiri Wiṟu lights up the desert sky with drones, lasers and ancient Aṉangu storytelling, set against Uluṟu’s iconic silhouette.
Award-winning Wintjiri Wiṟu –the world’s largest daily choreographed drone, laser and sound show – is a spectacular cultural storytelling experience. Receive a chapter of the ancestral Mala story direct from Aṉangu as it comes alive from sand to sky.
Set atop a desert dune, guests are taken to Ayers Rock Resort’s open-air amphitheatre to watch the sunset with views to Uluṟu and Kata Tjuṯa. Marvel at artwork from local Aṉangu artist, Christine Brumby, cut into the architectural steel separating the seating levels and backlit for maximum impact.
Narrated in the local Pitjantjatjara language and with a soundtrack featuring traditional ceremony (inma) recorded with Aṉangu, this symphony of 1,200 drones and state-of-the-art laser and light technology connects you to Country like never before.
After incredible reviews and international accolades, three Wintjiri Wiṟu sessions are now on offer: a sunset dinner, twilight show and after dark experience, all of which crescendo under Uluṟu’s glittering galaxy of stars. Food and drinks vary by experience, but all incorporate premium Australian wine together with indulgent cheeses and desserts infused with native ingredients.
Go behind the scenes of this groundbreaking production and discover how Wintjiri Wiṟu was brought to life in the Wintjiri Wiṟu documentary.
Feel the desert’s WOW
Field of Light brings Uluṟu to life after dark, with 50,000 glowing spheres illuminating the desert in a gently shifting sea of colour.
A trip to Uluṟu isn’t complete without watching its dramatic changing colours at dawn or dusk, and in addition to Wintjiri Wiṟu, an array of immersive light shows add extra wow factor.
Already a sight to behold, Uluṟu takes on an entirely new dimension with global phenomenon Field of Light, an ethereal art installation by acclaimed British artist Bruce Munro – and his longest-standing work. Covering an area the size of seven football fields, this mesmerising display features more than 50,000 handcrafted, frosted glass spheres that glow softly in a rhythmic dance of colour across the desert floor.
Field of Light perfectly distils the beauty of the desert, allowing you to connect with this ancient landscape like never before. Recently refurbished and extended, the installation continues to evolve, with 2026 marking its 10-year anniversary.
Sunrise Journeys is the Red Centre’s latest acclaimed multisensory experience, designed to connect guests with the spiritual essence of the Australian outback at dawn. As the sun rises at mighty Uluṟu, bespoke artwork created by three renowned female Aṉangu artists is brought to life through an exciting immersion of laser, light and sound across the desert landscape. The impactful event closes with a nourishing native-inspired breakfast and chai tea.
For a truly unforgettable evening, outdoor dining experiences take centre stage, combining world-class cuisine with the unforgettable beauty of the desert.
Tali Wiṟu – meaning ‘beautiful dune’ in local Aṉangu language – is an exclusive outdoor fine-dining experience offered by Ayers Rock Resort and limited to 20 guests per evening.
Panoramic views of Uluṟu and the distant domes of Kata Tjuṯa set the stage for a four-hour gastronomic adventure that begins with champagne and canapés around a firepit for sunset. Next, a four-course table d’hôte dinner is paired with premium Penfolds wines, followed by a storyteller sharing celestial creation stories with the most spectacular backdrop.
