A ski resort in the Czech village of Dolní Morava is about to launch the world's longest suspension bridge.

Located around 200 kilometres east of Prague, the record-breaking Sky Bridge 721 took two years to complete and will officially open on May 22.

Drone photos of the newly-built structure capture its dizzying proportions – a narrow 1.2 metre wide trail of metal, rope and concrete draped between two mountain ridges.

Sky Bridge 721 begins at an elevation of 1125 metres on the Slamenka Chalet side, and exits 10 metres higher at Chlum Hill.

The resort website warns the bridge will "take some courage to cross", stretching 721 metres long and dangling 95 metres above the Mlýnické Valley at its highest point. It begins at an elevation of 1125 metres on the Slaměnka Chalet side, and exits 10 metres higher at Chlum Hill.

Sky Bridge 721 joins the mountain resort's collection of activities for thrillseekers, including a rollercoaster-esque Sky Walk, a twisting wooden walkway that ascends 55 metres above ground, an alpine coaster and a bobsled track.

There's also a brain-stimulating activity along the ridge of Chlum Mountain called 'The Bridge of Time', where visitors can learn about the local scenery and history using games with tasks, recorded scenes and interactive visuals on their phone's display. The two kilometre walking experience takes around an hour to complete.

With a scenic location at the foothills of the Jeseniky Mountains, the new bridge pips former world record holder 516 Arouca in Portugal by more than 200 metres (though the Portuguese attraction still dwarfs the newcomer height-wise, at 175 metres).
