The bulge, the chess club and the outback icon: Cats dress to impress

It’s one of the AFL’s most anticipated post-season events, and Geelong players didn’t disappoint at their Wacky Wednesday celebration.

The dress-ups showed flair, but the Cats also proved they’re across the news, with retiring forward Tom Hawkins doing his best impression of French pole vaulter Anthony Ammirati and “the bulge” that went viral at the Paris Olympics.

Ammirati was a popular choice, with Jake Kolodjashnij also dressing as him.

Tanner Bruhn arrived as Age and Nine journalist Sam McClure holding a sign that read “They won’t pick him Mitch”, highlighting McClure’s 2023 prediction that the Eagles would not select Harley Reid in last year’s draft.

Mark Blicavs wore an Eagles jumper as Reid while Max Holmes played the role of Seven reporter Mitch Cleary.
