State of Origin 2017, Game Two: How the NSW Blues rated
By Matt Bungard
1. James Tedesco
Huge run to break the game open in the first half, safe under every ball - missed a key period due to a HIA test. 8/10
2. Blake Ferguson
Relatively quiet night for the Roosters winger, didn't do much wrong on either side of the ball, and ran hard. 6.5

3. Josh Dugan
An amazing try-saver at centre before moving to fullback and having a blinding stretch at his customary position. 8.5
4. Jarryd Hayne
Grabbed a try early on but had some mixed moments in defence - guilty of forcing his hand a bit too often with the ball. 6
5. Brett Morris
Took his try well and continues to be one of NSW's most reliable performers in the backline. 6.5
6. James Maloney
Another attacking masterclass from the five-eighth, who thrives at this level, but had some poor defensive reads. 7.5
7. Mitchell Pearce
One of his best showings in the arena - was involved in the opener, scored one himself and kicked well most of the time. 7.5
8. Aaron Woods
Superb first stint - set the tone early, forcing that error on Val Holmes and came back on to similar effect with the game in the balance. 7.5
9. Nathan Peats
A step down from three weeks' ago, but still tackled himself into a standstill. Had a key miss on Josh McGuire. 6.5
10. Andrew Fifita
Not the colossus he was in game one, but still very solid - drew extra attention, allowing space for teammates. 7.5
11. Boyd Cordner (c)
Another superb game from the skipper, dropped one ball in a promising spot but was solid all night - ate a tonne of metres. 8
12. Josh Jackson
Outstanding effort from the backrower. Smashed everyone that came near him and was far more involved in attack than in game one. 8
13. Tyson Frizell
Some strong runs before copping an injury - hopefully it's just a knock and he won't spend much time on the sidelines. 6
14. David Klemmer
Lives for these games - runs with a venom you don't see in many players and again provided huge metres off the bench. 8.5
15. Wade Graham
Not as involved as you'd like and gave away a crucial strip penalty with the game in the balance at the death. 5.5
16. Jake Trbojevic
Showed lovely soft hands to put Tedesco through a hole for Pearce's try - defended and ran well to boot. 8
17. Jack Bird
Very limited minutes for the Cronulla utility, not a whole lot of chances to showcase his considerable talent. 4
