Chalmers and Wright also spoke at length about housing, US commentator Ezra Klein’s influential new book Abundance and how the left is shifting to reclaim part of economics it has long disdained.

“We want good things to happen, we’ve got to stop strangling good things from happening,” Chalmers said. “I think that’s very, very compelling for us.”
