A 45-year-old man who died after a hit-and-run in Perth’s south on Saturday has been remembered as “a beautiful soul taken way too early”.
Jamie Murray was found unresponsive, laying on the road, by a delivery man in the early hours of the morning along Creery Street in Dudley Park, near Mandurah.

WA Police said the person responsible was on the run but on Sunday morning arrested a 37-year-old woman, who lived on the same street.
On Monday, she was charged with failing to stop and ensure assistance was received after an incident occasioning death and failing to report an incident occasioning death or grievous bodily harm.
She will appear in court on March 18.
A woman who lived in the same complex as Murray told 9 News Perth that he had been a lovely and quiet man who was a good person to the community.
On Facebook tributes were flowing for the father of two, who worked at the Mandurah Performing Arts Centre.
Karen Frances, who has directed plays at the centre, posted that Murray was “one in a million, such a beautiful soul and taken way too early”.
“Thank you for all your help over the years at MPAC with our shows and the kind and generous way you were with everyone,” she said.
“You were so nice to work with and just to have good chat with during work and after. My sincere sympathy to your family and friends, and thank you for always just being you.
“Today is a very sad day.”
Another friend posted that the news “really hurt”.
“Will miss you so much mate, one of the nicest genuine blokes you’ll ever meet, had the privilege to know you since I was 18, so many memories.”
Primadonna Productions – a production company in Mandurah – posted Murray would be missed by all the clubs he had helped out.
“I have warm memories of actually getting you onstage in Les Mis twenty years ago and what a singing voice you had. A hidden talent,” they wrote.
“You were a precious Dad to those lovely lads and my sympathies to all your family. Gone far too soon. Get those fly ropes sorted for us in that heavenly theatre, and we will put on one heck of a show when we meet again.”
