Three people charged over Northbridge glassing

Three people allegedly involved in a glassing incident in Northbridge on Tuesday night have been charged by police with assaulting a fourth person, leaving him with a head injury.

Around 8.10pm, two men began fighting along William Street outside a backpacker hostel. It is alleged that one of them then assaulted the other, who fell to the ground.

Two women then allegedly joined in and also allegedly assaulted the man on the floor. Witnesses claim one of them attacked the man with a glass bottle.

The injured man, aged in his 50s, was taken to Royal Perth Hospital for treatment of a head laceration. He was treated and has since been discharged.

In video footage of the assault, those allegedly involved are seen stumbling and moving slowly.

Following inquiries, a 49-year-old woman was charged with unlawful wounding and is due to appear in Perth Magistrates Court on Wednesday.

A second 49-year-old woman was charged with common assault and is due to appear in Perth Magistrates Court on May 9.

A 54-year-old man was charged with assault occasioning bodily harm and is due to appear in Perth Magistrates Court on May 6.
