A Perth mother is accused of stabbing her teenage daughter’s secret boyfriend after discovering the girl had sneaked him into her bedroom on Tuesday night.
WA Police alleged Jennifer Chin, 47, chased the 14-year-old boy around her Parkwood home with a knife around 8pm and stabbed him four times to the back and chest, the wounds piercing around two centimetres into the skin.
The woman, who works as an accountant, had allegedly been unaware her daughter had a boyfriend, and launched the attack upon discovering the teenage boy in a bedroom.
During the mother’s first court appearance in Armadale Magistrates Court on Wednesday, the magistrate described the offending as very serious.
Chin has no prior criminal history.
She was bailed to her home on the condition she surrenders her passport and has no contact with her daughter, who will go to live with other family members.
She is also not to approach her daughter’s boyfriend.
The 14-year-old boy was rushed to Royal Perth Hospital by ambulance with serious injuries.
His injuries are understood to be non-life-threatening.
Chin is due to appear in court again on November 15.
The investigation is ongoing and anyone with any information relating to this incident is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or via www.crimestopperswa.com.au.
