A Perth airport worker was sacked after a Facebook page was discovered with posts that were said to support the Islamic State terror group.

Nirmal Singh will have a hearing for wrongful dismissal heard by the Fair Work Commission in Perth on Tuesday after commissioner Jennifer Hunt gave his former employer permission to have a legal representative.

The employee was sacked for allegedly showing support for terror group ISIS.

Mr Singh was sacked as an "airline service agent" for Aerocare Flight Support in Perth after Facebook posts allegedly written under a pseudonym by Mr Singh were discovered, according to The Weekend Australian.

Aerocare claimed the content of those posts supported Islamic State and raised issues of national security and air safety.

The Weekend Australian reported Mr Singh had rejected that argument because the posts were "political in nature and therefore did not breach the company's social media policy".

He also argued that, as the posts were written under an alias, no one would have been able to conclude who he worked for or where he worked.

Mr Singh said other options than the termination of his employment had been available to Aerocare.

He told the commissioner he was unable to afford legal representation.

Aerocare provides a comprehensive range of services at 35 Australian and New Zealand airports.

They include ticketing, lounge management, baggage services, cleaning, catering and more.
