Cops arrest man over stabbing in South Perth

Police have arrested a man on the run in relation to a violent stabbing in South Perth on Wednesday afternoon that has left one person in hospital.

Cannington detectives took the man into custody after he was found near the Como Bowling Club.

The victim, a man in his 30s, is currently in receiving medical treatment in hospital for serious injuries, believed to be from a knife. His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

Emergency crews were quick to respond to the incident, closing Canning Highway southbound from Douglas Avenue to South Terrace in South Perth as officers respond to the incident at around 2.40pm.

Police have asked the public to avoid the area as they investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.

The injured man was found with serious injuries on Canning Highway with at least two other males believed to be involved in the incident.

It’s understood the men involved are known to each other.

Anyone with information or who witnessed the incident is asked to contact police immediately on 131 444.
