Woman's body found by police looking for missing grandmother Susan Shaw

A woman's body has been found in bushland by police searching for missing grandmother Susan Shaw.

The 67-year-old was last seen out on a walk in Warburton, about 72 kilometres east of Melbourne, at about 1.30am on November 28.

A large-scale search has been underway in the area since she was reported missing.

On Tuesday, police said they had found a woman's body in bushland near the Mount Donna Buang Road in Warburton around 12.40pm.

"While the body is yet to be formally identified, police are investigating if it is linked to the reported disappearance of missing Warburton woman Susan Shaw," a police spokeswoman said.

"The exact circumstances regarding the woman’s death are yet to be determined, however detectives from the missing persons squad will attend the scene."

Last week, her son Kane Cashmore also thanked the 120 emergency services personnel who descended on the thick and steep bush last week for their work in trying to locate her.
