Intruder fires gun in kitchen during midnight home invasion
By William Davis
A gun has been fired during an alleged overnight home invasion in Brisbane, with the shooter on the run.
Police were called to an Edith Street property in Deagon just after midnight following reports a person had forced their way into a home.
Investigators believed the intruder was confronted by two male and female occupants, and fired a gun towards a kitchen chair during a confrontation.
The person then fled in either a white Subaru Outback or white Mitsubishi Outlander towards Rainbow Street in Sandgate a short time later.
Nothing was stolen and police said they were yet to determine if the residents and intruder had known each other.
Just hours later a man was shot at home on Bushman Street in Plainland, in the Lockyer Valley.
The 31-year-old man suffered a gunshot wound to his upper body. The shooter fled before police arrived, and the victim was taken to hospital.
Investigations into both incidents were ongoing.
Anyone with relevant information or CCTV was urged to contact police.
