A Sydney school teacher has been embraced by her parents in court, as it emerged she is alleged to have sexually abused two of her students within days of each other.

At Campbelltown Local Court on Wednesday, Tayla Lee Brailey sat at the back of the room and was hugged by her parents as the court heard details about the evidence gathering against her.

According to court documents, Brailey allegedly accessed, possessed and solicited child abuse material of a 16-year-old student on Instagram in the lead up to the abuse.

Three sexual acts with that student occurred within 20 minutes on July 25, one being inciting the student to have sexual intercourse with her on the grounds of the south-west Sydney school.

The 30-year-old also allegedly sexually touched the student and incited him to sexually touch her between 3.20pm and 3.40pm.

The next day, she allegedly had sex with a different student in his car.

Brailey’s new lawyer, Abbas Soukie, told the court the brief of evidence had not been served on the defence, despite repeated attempts to contact the officer in charge of the investigation.

Magistrate Rana Daher ordered the brief to be served on October 29 and Brailey to return to court the following day.

Brailey first faced court on August 7, after being arrested at her school the previous day and charged with having sexual intercourse with, sexually touching and sexually assaulting a boy aged under 17 under her care.

The Sydney high school PE teacher allegedly sent sexual videos of herself on Snapchat, invited the teenager to her Wollongong home and had sex with him in the back of his car.

She was granted strict bail to live with her parents in Wollongong.

Less than two weeks later, Brailey was back in court over charges relating to the second student.

Brailey allegedly sent the teen explicit videos of herself and performed a sex act on him in a classroom before propositioning him for sex.

The child abuse material charges relate to that student.

Brailey was again granted bail to continue living with her parents.

Police first started investigating Brailey on August 6 after receiving reports a female teacher had sexually touched a 17-year-old boy. They arrested her at her school the same day.

Police allege Brailey became hysterical and said: “I am going to jail, aren’t I? I’m going to lose my family, my husband, my job.”

Brailey was married last year.
