Two Sydney men have been charged with bestiality and child abuse-related offences after detectives discovered an online chat group allegedly discussing vile material.
At 6am on Thursday, Strike Force Trawler detectives executed a search warrant at a Windsor home and arrested Keegan Nye, 38, and Nathan Adams, 42, after an investigation into the production of bestiality material in Sydney.
The men were arrested after detectives found an online group chat with members allegedly discussing bestiality and child abuse material and sharing the material.
During Thursday’s search, detectives seized electronic devices allegedly containing bestiality material featuring farm animals and videos of a child being filmed without their knowledge.
Nye was charged with two counts of bestiality and using a carriage service to access child abuse material. Adams was charged with possessing bestiality material and two counts of peep or pry – a charge laid against a person allegedly in or near a building without reasonable cause to peep or pry upon another person.
Police allege the bestiality acts were committed on farm animals. Two dogs found at the home during the search are in the care of the RSPCA.
Both men were refused police bail on Thursday, before facing Penrith Local Court. Nye was refused bail and remanded in custody, while Adams was granted bail with strict conditions. He is banned from contacting Nye, using any form of social media or the internet, cannot enter Windsor or South Windsor, and can only possess one mobile phone that cannot access the internet.
Both men will reappear in Penrith Local Court on November 22.
