Police have released a computer-generated image of a man who they want to speak to after they say a woman was sexually assaulted in broad daylight while walking down a busy street in Sydney’s inner west.

A 35-year-old woman was walking alone on Missenden Road in Camperdown at 1.30pm on Sunday, February 11, when police say she was grabbed by a man and pulled into a nearby laneway where she was sexually assaulted.

Detectives commenced an investigation in March when the alleged assault was reported to them, prompting the release of a COMFIT image on Friday of a man they believe can help with their investigation.

The man is described by police as being of Caucasian appearance and most likely in his 60s, with short slicked-back brown hair. He is believed to have been wearing a black singlet, black tracksuit pants and thongs.

If anyone recognises the man shown in the COMFIT image they are encouraged to come forward to Newtown detectives or Crime Stoppers.
