A 15-year-old boy has been charged with the murder of a man in his 30s who was allegedly stabbed to death in Sydney’s inner west in the early hours of Saturday morning.
Emergency services were called to a home on Spring Street in Concord about 12.30am and found the man outside the property with multiple stab wounds to his chest.
Paramedics treated the man for his injuries, but he died at the scene. He is yet to be formally identified.
Police established a crime scene and, after inquires, detectives arrested a 15-year-old boy, who had returned to the scene with his mother.
“Today, one life was lost and one life will be ruined,” Superintendent Christine McDonald said.
“It is why we have laws against young people carrying knives on our streets. One day, in the spur of the moment, you may use that knife; you may kill someone with that knife.”
The boy was taken to Burwood Police Station where he was charged with murder.
The boy was refused bail to appear before a children’s court on Sunday.
