Khaled Sharrouf's daughter, 14, marries Mohamed Elomar in Syria: claim
By Rachel Olding
Australian Islamic State member Khaled Sharrouf's 14-year-old daughter has apparently boasted about marrying her father's best friend, Mohamed Elomar, in Syria.
Sharrouf and Elomar are fighting with the terrorist group and horrified the world last year when they posted images of themselves holding severed heads in the town of Raqqa.
Sharrouf, also known as Abu Zarqawi al Australi, sneaked out of Australia on his brother's passport in 2013 and travelled to Syria with his wife, Tara Nettleton, and their four children.
His seven year-old son was photographed holding a severed head and Sharrouf captioned it, "That's my boy!"
A Twitter account purporting to be from their eldest child, Zaynab Sharrouf, 14, had posts over the weekend saying she was now Elomar's wife.
Elomar, also known as Abu Hafs al Australi, has another wife, Fatima, and three children in Sydney.
Fatima Elomar and her children were intercepted trying to leave Australia last year, allegedly to join Elomar in Syria.
She has been charged with foreign incursion offences and is due back in the Downing Centre Local Court in May.
Zaynab Sharrouf, who changed her name online to Umm Hafs, has been welcomed into the circle of Australian jihadi wives in Syria, who include the widows of Australian jihadists Mahmoud Abdullatif and Suhan Rahman.
The women apparently posted a bizarre series of photos on Twitter last week, showing them on and beside a white BMW, holding machineguns and flags.
One photo is claimed to show Zaynab, her mother, Abdullatif's wife Zehra Dumann and Rahman's wife Umm Jihad, perched on the boot of the car, pointing machineguns to the sky.
"Chillin in the khilafah, lovin life," Zaynab purportedly captioned it.
She also posted images of toddlers, claiming they were Yezidis who had been brainwashed into loving Islamic State.
An investigation by the ABC this year revealed that Sharrouf and Elomar have kidnapped, enslaved, raped and sold Yezidi women.
