John Pearce, founder of the debt agency Collection House, paid a record $6.7 million last year for an off-the-plan penthouse in Brisbane's Riparian Plaza. It surpassed a Noosa apartment that fetched $4.1 million.
The highest price paid for an Adelaide apartment was $2.65 million in the beachside suburb of Glenelg.
The ACT's record price is a $2.14 million for a property in Red Hill.
