Boy dies in hospital after falling off e-scooter

A teenage boy has died in hospital almost one week after an electric scooter crash in Logan.

The 15-year-old local came off the e-scooter on the footpath on Basalt Drive at Yarrabilba just after 8.35am on Tuesday.

Police are investigating the death of the 15-year-old.

He was rushed with critical injuries to Queensland Children’s Hospital but died on Sunday.

The forensic crash unit and child protection and investigation unit are investigating the incident and a report will be prepared for the coroner.

Anyone with information or relevant footage that could assist in the investigation is urged to contact police.

Almost one year ago, a man in his 50s died after crashing his e-scooter into a pole in an inner-Brisbane suburb seconds after he overtook a bicycle.

Police believed he might have suffered a medical episode.
