How would you describe your style? If you’d asked me a couple of years ago, I’d have said that I love experimenting with fashion, and I’m often the most overdressed person in the room. However, since having a child, it’s effortless chic. I have a capsule wardrobe of mostly dark-coloured tops and pants suitable for chasing a dirty child around.

What’s the oldest thing in your wardrobe? An old winter coat I purchased on a school trip to the snow over a decade ago.

And the most recent addition? A pair of Tony Bianco “Lush” heels that I’m excited to wear with a mini dress.

What would you wear … on a first date? Black Henne “Valentina” jeans with a sheer Maj’r off-the-shoulder top, a Lem pleather coat and black, pointed kitten heels. … on the plane? Comfy, oversized wide-leg jeans with a Cotton On singlet, blazer, sneakers and my Oroton travel bag. … on the red carpet? A couture gown by Melbourne designer Oglia-Loro who does a lot of my red-carpet looks. Sam [Oglialoro] also made my wedding gown and reception dress.

Broad is keen to wear these Tony Bianco “Lush” heels with a mini dress.

What’s your favourite fashion era? I like now, especially for the way we’re moving away from fast fashion and investing more in long-term pieces.

Who are your favourite designers? Henne for well-made everyday pieces and Venroy for holidays and summer staples. I also love Camilla and Marc, Viktoria & Woods, Effie Kats, Natalie Rolt, and Paul Vasileff.

What’s your fragrance of choice? My mum gave me a bottle of Chanel “Coco Mademoiselle” for my hens party. I wore it for my wedding, and I love it so much, I haven’t stopped since.

What are the three essential items in your wardrobe? An oversized black blazer – I like Kookai and Bec + Bridge for day, and Effie Kats for evening – Henne “Valentina” jeans in every colour, and a little black dress with a cinched waist.

Tayla Broad’s favourite scent is Chanel’s “Coco Mademoiselle”.

Any go-to jewellery? I wear chunky Anna Rossi bracelets and some sentimental pieces by Linden Cook – a heart pendant with the birthstones of my husband and daughter, and a fingerprint necklace with my dog’s nose print.

Can you remember a favourite outfit you wore as a child? There was a sparkly polka-dot top that made me feel like the bee’s knees as a primary school kid.

What was your first fashion moment? Wearing one of those iconic mini dresses with beaded bra cups on a year 9 river cruise.

And your worst fashion mistake? I am mortified to say I owned a pair of galaxy-print leggings.

What’s on your wish list? I’d love a Cartier “Tank Must” or “Panthère” watch, but my husband is not sold on the idea.

Is there something you would never wear? The nude look that celebrities like Bianca Censori are rocking.

Is there a current trend you like? I’m loving slouchy, high-waisted tailored pants. My mum would always say “wear a dress” but I love a cool pair of pants all year round.

What do you sleep in? I live in Melbourne and there’s no cute lingerie or PJs worth risking hypothermia for so it’s track pants and a big jumper.

What shoes do you wear most often? New Balance “550” and Adidas “Spezial” sneakers. Also, my Birkenstock “Arizonas”.

Who are your favourites fashion icons? Nadia Bartel is killing it; she’s always styled perfectly, down to her nails. I also love Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Elsa Hosk.

What do you wear on a typical working day? Tailored pants with a crisp white Assembly Label shirt, a grey pin-stripe blazer and a kitten heel.

What’s your favourite off-duty, casual Sunday look? I’ll be heading to Pilates in Leelo activewear, followed by a walk with the family.
