‘I just had to wipe off the vomit’: Ellidy Pullin’s worst fashion fail
Each week, we quiz a prominent person about their style and the inspiration behind it. Ahead, podcast host and influencer Ellidy Pullin.

How would you describe your style? It’s very relaxed. I go for comfort elevated with accessories. I’m not trying to be a fashion girl.
What’s the oldest thing in your wardrobe? A long, purple, lacy cape that my mum made and wore when she was young. I wear it over a little dress or jeans and singlet. I even wore it to my birthday one year with just a bikini underneath.
And the most recent addition? Pieces from my collaboration with Ena Pelly, EPxEP. I wear heaps of black but I’m trying to wear more colour, and that’s what I did with this collection.
What would you wear … on a first date? Jeans, a nice little top and boots. …on a plane? I’d wear “The Darling Flare Flow” bodysuit – from a collab that Chloe [Fisher, friend and podcast co-host] and I did with Nat V – with a jumper and chunky New Balance sneakers. …on the red carpet? Something by Carla Zampatti or Rebecca Vallance.
What’s your favourite fashion era? The fun and fruity ’70s, all the bright colours and cool cuts.
Who are your favourite designers? I’m loving Christopher Esber and Rat & Boa for dressing up, Henne and St Agni for elevated pieces and lounging, Something Very Special for cool and casual and Moda Mittsu when I’m super chill and just being a mum.
What’s your fragrance of choice? I don’t wear perfume, but I have a body oil that I brought out with Rich Glen: it’s olive oil infused with lavender, patchouli and frankincense. It smells amazing.
What are the three essential items in your wardrobe? The black EPxEP “Ellidy” tailored pants are a staple. Also, Gucci sunnies and my Dylan Kain “The Neveah Sling” bag; it’s the ultimate travel bag in that it fits way more than it looks.
Any go-to jewellery? I wear Kaarme beaded necklaces with the initials of people in my family; a YCL Jewels piece with my daughter’s name, “Minnie”, in tiny diamonds; and some bespoke Ribs & Dust rings: one with my nan’s diamonds and some gems that Chumpy [Ellidy’s late husband, snowboard champion Alex “Chumpy” Pullin] chose, and another with my dog’s nose print.
Can you remember a favourite outfit you wore as a child? A Little Mermaid sequin gown when I was about three.
What was your first fashion moment? It was a shoot that Chumpy and I did together about 10 years ago. We were dressed in head-to-toe Gucci in a vintage car on Avalon Beach, Sydney. It was so not him – he was a surf rat, snowboarder guy – but it was really cool.
And your worst fashion mistake? I was a bridesmaid, and my kid vomited on me right before the wedding. I didn’t have time to change, so I just had to wipe it off and wear the spew-covered dress.
What’s on your fashion wishlist? A Miu Miu baseball cap.
Is there something you would never wear? A midi dress or skirt. I hate that awkward mid-length; it’s got to be short or to the ground.
Is there a current trend you like? I’m obsessed with jorts.
What shoes do you wear most often? Fluffy Hommey slides, New Balance sneakers and a pair of a black Louis Vuitton boots I saved up for and bought for my 30th birthday.
Who’s your favourite fashion icon? I like Princess Diana because she wasn’t trying to be a fashion icon.
The Miu Miu hat Ellidy Pullin has her eye on.
What do you wear on a typical working day? St Agni pants with a little T-shirt, a button up or a fun Five By Flynn top that looks business-y at the front but is strappy and backless. My work is sitting on a podcast or having a meeting for a sunglass brand I’m bringing out; I don’t dress for a corporate environment.
What’s your favourite off-duty, casual Sunday look? The Moda Mittsu “Signature Tie” top and pants.
The Ena Pelly EPxEP collection is available now.
