It's time for us to stop work and browse travel websites about France and wonder if work will give us some time off.

But before that, what did we learn today?

• Doing numerous interviews about how there's no disunity in the government is an effective way to keep the story going; 
• It's really good timing for the Nationals Leader to be the Acting Prime Minister;
• If any government MP ever needs a break, Scott Ludlam could step in and say their lines for them; and
• If uni students want cheap fees, they might have to settle for Bum Crack College. 

 

Parliament will be back in just over a week.

The PM is not expected to hold a doorstop soon.

Over the next few days, he will be meeting world leaders, including the French President Francois Hollande and Germany's Angela Merkel.

As well as participating in ceremonies for the 70th anniversary of D-Day.
