the cuts to the ABC again dominated the day with nervous Coalition MPs discussing the issue in their party room meeting this morning;
Labor said it would increase funding to the public broadcasters but has declined to say by how much;
Prime Minister Tony Abbott tried to turn the tables on Labor in Question Time by saying its position on the ABC's funding showed it was untrustworthy;
Communications Minister Malcolm Turnbull said the cuts were cuts, not an efficiency dividend; and
Liberal Democratic Party Senator David Leyonhjelm will introduce his bill on same sex marriage into the Senate tomorrow.
Senator Leyonhjelm's bill is not expected to go before the Liberal Party room before the end of year.
Senator Leyonhjelm will tell the Senate on Wednesday that he supports marriage equality because he believes people "ought to have the freedom to choose their own path".
"When the law says that gay, lesbian, bisexual, trans and intersex people cannot marry....a major choice is being closed off," Senator Leyonhjelm will tell the Senate, according to an advance copy of his speech.
Liberal Democratic Party Senator David Leyonhjelm is poised to introduce his long awaited same sex marriage bill to the Senate.
The move will increase the pressure on the Liberal Party room to allow their MPs a conscience vote on the issue.
