Tantrums part of the job when working with Lindsay Lohan

By Lucy Manly

Lindsay Lohan’s diva behaviour has been making headlines since she landed in Australia to film Network Ten’s new show The Masked Singer. At the last minute the controversial star pulled out of a scheduled appearance on Have You Been Paying Attention , with a spokesperson claiming she needed to “rest up”.

A staff member from Lohan’s tight circle told Emerald City that erratic behaviour is the norm for the actress-turned-reality star.

“She loves you one minute and the next she will fire you,” the staff member explained.

“Of course she doesn't mean it, she likes to throw tantrums but it's part of the job when you work with Lindsay.”

HYBPA? funnyman Sam Pang revealed the long list of topics the panel had been warned to avoid ahead of Lohan’s appearance included her MTV beach club reality show, her on/off friendship with Paris Hilton, her family, drugs and alcohol, her love life and numerous arrests.

She has had a rocky relationship with son Andrew Spira, but it seems Lizzie Buttrose’s relationship with her eldest has healed since he began dating her friend.

Emerald City understands 21-year-old Andrew is in a better place since he began a romantic relationship with 36-year-old Julia Maguire, a longtime friend of his mother's.

The pair have been linked for the past 18 months since Spira left school. They live together in Elizabeth Bay and have taken numerous overseas holidays as a couple.

Their relationship was once the hot topic of eastern suburbs gossip but Maguire's friends believe it is serious and have gotten used to the youngster being around.

Eastern suburbs social butterfly Maguire has been ranked as one of Australia's top 100 entrepreneurs and is the executive director of The Capital Network. Spira operates finance broker Pineapple Funding in Sydney's CBD.

In 2017 Rose Bay police took out an AVO on Spira’s behalf against his mother - which was later dismissed - after allegations Buttrose threatened her then 18-year-old son at her Bellevue Hill home.

It seems it's all water under the bridge now for Buttrose who took to social media in April to praise her two sons' girlfriends, tagging Maguire in a post that read "I’m so lucky! My two daughters-in-law!" Maguire and Spira could not be reached for comment.

JBish keeps it fresh with Panton

Julie Bishop may have stepped away from politics but she certainly hasn’t disappeared from public life, popping up at Sydney events most weeks, often with her long-distance boyfriend, Manly-based entrepreneur David Panton, in tow.

But speaking to Social Scene JBish quickly shut down talk of a permanent move to the Harbour City.

"David is in Sydney and I live in Perth but we meet constantly, travel together, travel overseas and keep it fresh," she revealed, adding, "I think long-distance relationships can be a lot of fun!"

Bishop is clearly enjoying her post-political life, declaring "I don't miss any aspect of politics."

Roxy stared down in court

One chic plaintiff graced Waverley local court on Thursday morning when PR maven Roxy Jacenko came face to face with the man she alleges hurled “vulgar language” at her during a speaking engagement earlier this year.

Jacenko took out a private AVO against Bitcoin trader Anthony Hess after the pair clashed at an event hosted by Jacenko at The Ivy in February.

However, Hess has previously claimed the socialite launched a verbal tirade in his direction when leaving the event.

Jacenko appeared at court supported by her mother Doreen Davis, but the pair kept their gaze forward during the proceedings.

Hess and a female friend sat on the other side of the courtroom smirking at the mother of two.

Hess’s legal team subpoenaed the criminal record of Jacenko’s husband Oliver Curtis who previously served one year in jail for insider trading and any criminal records of Jacenko.

The matter was adjourned for a hearing at the Downing Centre on November 21.
