Accused mushroom killer Erin Patterson’s court date brought forward

Accused triple murderer Erin Patterson has been ordered to front court for a special hearing almost two weeks earlier than planned.

Accused triple murderer Erin Patterson will return to court a week before she was due to be heard for a committal mention.

Ms Patterson has been listed for a special mention at Latrobe Valley Magistrates’ Court on April 22.

It is understood the earlier hearing date – 11 days before her committal mention on May 3 – is for “case management purposes”.

Ms Patterson will appear via video link.

It comes after Victoria Police confirmed that Homicide Squad detectives had finalised and served the brief of evidence to Ms Patterson’s lawyers.

The brief effectively details the evidence the prosecution will rely on in the case against the accused triple murderer.

The mum of two was charged with three counts of murder and five counts of attempted murder – three of which relate to earlier attempts to kill her ex-husband Simon Patterson – in November last year.

Ms Patterson’s former in-laws Don and Gail Patterson and Gail’s sister Heather Wilkinson died after allegedly eating a poisonous beef wellington dish at her Leongatha home on July 29.

Heather’s husband Ian Wilkinson miraculously survived after he spent two months in hospital.

Simon Patterson was due to attend the lunch, but pulled out at the last minute.
