Youths charged after 4WD tyre spiked on Tiger Brennan Dr

A TYRE deflation device was used to stop a 4WD which was allegedly stolen from a home in Bayview.

NT Police Northern Watch Commander Acting Senior Sergeant Tony Bennett said at 2.45am a 4WD was allegedly stolen from a Bayview home and spotted by cops being driven on Tiger Brennan Dr in the direction of Palmerston.

He said a tyre deflation device was used and the vehicle slowed to a stop soon after.

Four women were arrested two aged 16, one 17-year-old and a 19-year-old.

A 16-year-old was remanded in custody and will face court for multiple charges relating to the incident today while the 19-year-old was bailed to face court on July 13 for two offences.

The two remaining youths will be subject to the provisions of the Youth Justice Act 2005.

“NT Police would like to remind community members to ensure the safety of all vehicle keys including any spare keys about the home and workplace,” A/Sen Sgt Bennett said.
