On the same night, another Tennant Creek woman, 46, was also fined for breaching the 10 person rule along with a 63-year-old man from the same town who hosted a gathering of 19 people at his home.

“All three people were issued with an infringement penalty of $1099 and referred to environmental health officers to conduct a further risk assessment to determine if contact tracing is required,” the spokeswoman said.

“NT Police, public and environmental health officers and the Australian Defence Force continue to undertake quarantine compliance checks to ensure people are completing their 14 days quarantine.”

The spokeswoman said police would continue to monitor social distancing measures and enforce the 10 person rule while strongly encouraging Territorians not to gather in groups of more than two.
