A WOMAN who allegedly hit a police officer before leading them on a pursuit has been arrested an charged.
Just before 11am Thursday officers on patrol at East Point came across a car parked in the middle of the road with a woman behind the wheel.
Cops attempted to engage with the 37-year-old, however police allege she became aggressive and drove off at speed.

Police pursued the woman but called off the chase due to safety concerns.
The woman was later arrested on Tiger Brennan Drive near Berrimah Road driving the car on three tyres and one rim.
She was taken to the Palmerston Watch House charged with contravention of emergency declaration, assault police, drive in a dangerous manner, drive an unsafe motor vehicle.
She has been bailed to appear in Darwin Local Court on September 1.
