Woman injured, knocked unconscious in eScooter crash at Darwin Waterfront

A WOMAN has been injured and knocked unconscious in an eScooter crash in the Darwin CBD overnight.
NT Police Northern Watch Commander Acting Senior Sergeant Andrew Caruana said about 9.30pm, police received a report of woman who had been injured while riding an eScooter at the Waterfront.
When they arrived, they found the injured woman in the recovery position being treated by two off-duty nurses.
“She had a visible wound to her head and appeared to be breathing but unconscious” he said.

“Later it was established that the woman had been eating and drinking at a nearby establishment before jumping on the eScooter. The accident occurred shortly after, while trying to negotiate going from the footpath to the road, where she had fallen from the eScooter causing her injuries.
“It doesn’t appear she was wearing her helmet. “
St John Ambulance paramedics took the woman to Royal Darwin Hospital for treatment for her injuries.
