A MAN charged with the alleged stabbing murder of a young woman in Jingili late last year has appeared in court.

Warren Dhamarrandji, 36, appeared in the Darwin Local Court on Wednesday morning following the woman’s death on December 1, 2020.

He also stands charged with breaching a domestic violence order, going armed in public and aggravated assault.

The woman died in the middle of the street at 11am on Freshwater Road near the Jingili Water Gardens.

Dhamarrandji was arrested following an hour-long manhunt after he was seen fleeing the area on a bicycle.

His matter was adjourned to May 12.

Dhamarrandji was remanded in custody.
