Teen charged with bashing 92-year-old as he sat in his car

A TEENAGER who allegedly beat an elderly man as he sat in his car at Freds Pass on Saturday morning has been arrested and charged with aggravated assault.

Police have charged a 16-year-old boy with assaulting an elderly man.

A TEENAGER who allegedly beat an elderly man as he sat in his car at Freds Pass yesterday morning has been arrested and charged with aggravated assault.

An NT Police spokeswoman said the 92-year-old was sitting in his car at about 5.40am when the 16-year-old boy approached him and allegedly punched him repeatedly.

She said the elderly man suffered “substantial injuries” as a result of the alleged attack and was taken to the Palmerston Regional Hospital for treatment.

The teen has been remanded in custody and will appear in the Youth Justice Court tomorrow.
