SIX cars were damaged and broken into overnight on Temple Tce, near the Oasis shopping centre.

It comes less than a week after an application for a Liquorland was granted for the shopping centre with some community opposition voicing concern the new outlet would bring anti-social and violent behaviour to the area.

NT Police Senior Sergeant Nathan Finn said police were calling for information in relation to the property offences, which happened about 10.30pm on Tuesday night.

“Deliberate theft and property damage is unacceptable and hits the community hard, especially this close to Christmas,” he said.
