A 30-YEAR-OLD policeman has become the second NT police officer in two weeks to be suspended from duty following allegations of serious breaches of discipline.
NT Police said because the matter is ongoing no further information will be provided.
It comes about a week after a 61-year-old officer was suspended without pay for serious breaches of discipline on April 8.
He was allegedly responsible for producing and distributing provocatively worded T-shirts which sparked outrage on social media.
Assistant Commissioner Michael White APM said the alleged actions of that officer were “disgraceful”.
“For a serving officer to be involved in this behaviour brings disrepute to the entire police force and this behaviour is unacceptable,” he said.
