Police seek women who saw assault outside licenced venue in Alice Springs

Police are appealing for help identify two women who witnessed an assault outside a licenced venue in Central Australia earlier this month.

POLICE in Alice Springs are appealing for help identify two women who witnessed an assault outside a licenced venue earlier this month.

Senior Constable Tim van den Berg said the two women saw the offender assault another man, causing him to fall to the ground and suffer a fractured jaw, at about 6.30pm on April 10.

Sr Const van den Berg said there were multiple people inside the Gap Rd venue at the time and urged them to get in touch to help identify the two women.

“It is important that we gather as much information as possible from those who were there are the time of the assault,” he said.

“These women are in no way any trouble, however, they were privy to the discussion prior to the assault and we hope they can provide some insight as to what was said prior to the assault.”

The women are described as being of Indigenous appearance, middle-aged and wearing black coloured beanies.

One woman was wearing a purple and yellow skirt and a black T-shirt with a white and red logo on the front while the other was wearing a black beanie, white and black coloured blouse and a black skirt.
