POLICE have arrested a man for the alleged sexual assault of a woman in her own home in Parap.
About 7.20pm Thursday, detectives from the Sex Crimes Unit, with the assistance of the Territory Response Group, Palmerston general duties officers and negotiators, arrested Troy Nathan Benning, 25, at a location in Moulden.
He was conveyed to the Palmerston Watch House, where he remains in police custody.
Mr Benning was charged in relation to a sexual assault about 12.20am Wednesday, in which a 38-year-old woman was at home in her first floor Parap apartment when a man broke in through an unlocked balcony door.
Police alleged the man forced the victim into her bedroom where he allegedly assaulted her before fleeing the apartment.
She suffered lacerations and fractures to her face, a broken arm and cuts and bruises to her body.

The arrest comes several hours after NT Police called for anyone with information that could help them locate Mr Benning to come forward.
