AN itinerant man in a wheelchair has reportedly been attacked by a group of girls in Darwin’s CBD.

The man was asleep in his wheelchair in the CBD at around 2am on Sunday morning when police received reports of a group of girls attacking him and pushing over his wheelchair.

Police believe they were trying to steal from him.

“An attack on a vulnerable person, it’s disgraceful,” Northern Watch Commander Len Turner said.
