NT POLICE have arrested two drink drivers in Tennant Creek overnight, including one with a blood-alcohol level more than four times the legal limit.
NT Police Southern Watch Commander Senior Sergeant Shaun Furniss said about 7pm, police had stopped a 51-year-old man driving a white Toyota Sedan on Myers St for a random breath test.
He blew over the limit and was arrested.
A later breath analysis showed the man had a blood alcohol reading of 0.225 – more than four times over the 0.05 limit.
Snr Sgt Furniss said police also discovered the man was a learner driver, but had not been driving with a licensed driver in the car, and that his car had been unregistered since January.

The man, who is in police custody, is expected to be charged with high range drink driving, driving in contravention of a learners permit and driving an unregistered and uninsured vehicle.
Snr Sgt Furniss said police had caught another drink driver in Tennant Creek about 3.50am, when they stopped a 34-year-old man driving a Nissan 4WD on Blackmore Rd for a random breath test.
He blew over the limit and was arrested, and a later breath analysis showed he had a blood-alcohol level of 0.121.
Police also found the man did not have a licence.

He is in custody and is expected to be charged with medium range drink driving and driving without a licence.
