A MAN found wielding two frying pans during a “large disturbance” on a Palmerston street last night has been arrested by police.

NT Police Northern Watch Commander Senior Sergeant Len Turner said about 10.45pm, police had received reports of a “large disturbance” on Cornwallis Circuit.

He said officers had arrived to find at least 10 people fighting in the street.

“Upon arriving, among the persons there police saw a man wielding two frying pans, one in each hand, and he was running amok,” he said.

“The other persons dispersed when police arrived, but this man continued carrying on.”

Police arrested the 34-year-old man and transported him to the Palmerston watch house.

He is expected to be charged later today with weapons offences and disorderly behaviour.
