A man has miraculously walked away from a helicopter crash 10km west of Katherine.
The man who was the only one in the chopper was out mustering cattle when he ran into trouble.
Watch Commander Antony Deutrom said police, fireys and St John paramedics responded to reports the pilot was coming in at low speed and altitude after being out mustering at 3.48pm yesterday.
“The helicopter was extremely damaged but fortunately the pilot suffered no injuries,” Superintendent Deutrom said.
Police referred the matter to WorkSafe NT and the Australian Transport Safety Bureau for further investigation.
