THE owners of Mitchell St’s Outback Steaks & Curry restaurant have been left with a hefty repair bill after petty thieves targeted the business on Tuesday night.
Co-owner Deepak Sharma said the two burglars had caused $2500 worth of damage in the raid — all for the sake of a couple of beers and two bottles of wine.

Mr Sharma said he called the police but wouldn’t be pursuing charges through the courts as it would mean shutting down the restaurant while officers investigated and losing business, rather than opening for dinner on Wednesday.

“We have a couple of bookings and I don’t want to disappoint our customers,” he said. We covered (the hole) with a painting and we’re ready for our dinner shift.”
