A PEDESTRIAN has suffered serious injuries after being hit by a suspected drunk driver.
The 28-year-old woman was crossing South Terrace in Alice Springs when she was struck by a Toyota HiLux.
The woman suffered serious leg injuries and was taken to hospital.
Southern Watch Commander Shaun Furniss said she might require surgery.
The 57-year-old driver was breath tested and returned a high-range blood alcohol reading.
He was also found to be driving unlicensed and uninsured.
He has been remanded in police custody and is expected to be charged with dangerous driving causing serious harm.
