ONE person has died and another has been rushed to hospital after a single vehicle accident involving five people at a private property

NT Police are investigating a fatal crash in Daly River on a private property.

A PERSON has died and another was rushed to hospital following a fatal crash at a private property near Daly River.

NT Watch Commander Sonia Kennon said police received a report after 9pm on Saturday of a fatal accident that occurred on a private property in the Daly River region.

“It appears there were five occupants travelling in a motor vehicle which was involved in a single vehicle accident resulting in the death of one of the occupants,” she said.

“A second occupant was conveyed to Royal Darwin Hospital to receive medical attention for non life-threatening injuries.

“A crime scene has been held overnight and members of the Major Crash Investigation Unit are this morning on their way to carry out further investigations.”

She said police were not able to provide more details about the fatal crash at this stage.

“I’m not giving out any more information because at the moment the investigation is in its infancy,” she said.
