DETECTIVES from NT’s Major Crimes Unit are investigating the death of a 33-year-old woman in the northern suburbs of Darwin.

Police were called to a residence in Millner after the woman’s body was discovered there on Sunday morning.

Police have taped off access to a house on the corner of Levi St and Solomon St.

The woman lived at the residence with her kids, according to one neighbour who did not wish to be named.

“I didn’t hear anything last night but they seemed like a normal family,” he said.

“You would see the kids playing in the yard but they tended to keep to themselves.”

Wanda Arrigo, who also lives nearby, said the police investigation was very out of character for their quiet neighbourhood.

“I’ve lived here for over 50 years and nothing like this has ever happened here — so when the police man came to my front door and told me what happened I nearly passed out,” she said.
