AN ALLEGEDLY stolen car had its tyres blown out by police after officers tracked the car for several hours in the Red Centre.
NT Police Southern Watch Commander Adrian Kidney said at 3.30am on Monday a resident reported their home had been broken into and two cars had been stolen along with a handbag containing a wallet and credit cards.

He said it appeared an offender had entered through a bedroom window and found the handbag containing the car keys on the kitchen bench.
“Members sighted the vehicle several times throughout the night and set up a cordon and managed to successfully deploy a tyre deflation device on Bradshaw Tce,” Watch Cmdr Kidney said.
The car was found a short time later dumped in a backstreet with the engine running.
He said cops conducted an extensive search but had not been able to find the offender.
He said forensics would be visiting all locations and inquiries were continuing.
The break-in was one of several in Alice Springs over the weekend.

At 3.30am Sunday, cops were called to a home in Araluen. The resident had chased the offender out of the house.
Police searched the area but were unable to find anyone.
Later yesterday morning there were reports of two unlawful entries in the same area.
One of these was the scout hall, where offenders had used a bolt cutter to gain entry through the kitchen window.
Once inside they stole alcohol and soft drinks.
Watch Cmdr Kidney said a third property was broken into around the same area by forcing entry through a kitchen window.
“They’ve rummaged through the kitchen and stolen bottles of alcohol, a handbag containing credit cards and vehicle keys,” he said.
The Alice In The Territory motel was also broken into but nothing was stolen, he said.
“We’d like to remind everyone to ensure they lock their doors prior to going to bed and don’t leave car keys lying round,” he said.
