AN NT Police officer accused of dealing cocaine to a colleague and stealing a police-issued gun has indicated he will plead guilty in the Supreme Court.
Daniel Keelan, 43, appeared in the Darwin Local Court yesterday where his charges of stealing, supplying less than a commercial quantity of a schedule 1 drug and possessing a trafficable quantity of a schedule 1 drug were handed up to the Supreme Court.

Keelan’s lawyer, Peter Maley, told the court his client “will be pleading guilty in the Supreme Court.”
“I ask you to give him full credit for an early plea.”
The matter will have its first mention in the Supreme Court at a criminal callover on January 14.
Keelan’s bail was extended.
He also stands charged with less serious offences including failing to meet storage requirements and unauthorised possession of a schedule 4 substance will be dealt with in the Local Court in March.

It comes after Mr Maley told the court during the last mention that he hoped to resolve the matter in the Local Court rather than the Supreme, which the prosecution did not consent to.
