Members of Mr Williams’ family also attended court on Wednesday.

The case is set to be formally handed up to the Supreme Court on July 30.

Groening also stands charged with medium-range drink driving and driving while under the influence of drugs.

She will return to the Darwin Local Court to face those charges in August.

Evidence expected to be tendered in court as a part of the case include CCTV footage of the fatal crash and analysis from an electronic recording device fitted to the car Groening crashed into.

At his funeral in July, Mehali was remembered as a “beautiful cheeky boy” who was his dad’s best friend.
