A FOUR-wheel-drive has slammed into popular pub Six Tanks Brew Co. after the driver was involved in an assault only minutes earlier.
The nightclub and pub area of Mitchell St was cordoned off to the public after multiple police and ambulance vehicles arrived on the scene to treat a man who was struck by the vehicle.
The driver of the 2003 black Toyota LandCruiser appeared to be injured, but it was unclear if that was the result of the crash or from the earlier assault incident.
The partner of the man struck by the 4WD – who needed on-site treatment and was taken away in an ambulance – spoke to the NT News.
“I was there. My partner went under the bonnet,” she said.
“I thought he was dead.”
